Coyotes take crown

Both the men’s and women’s teams claim Great West title

For the second year in a row, the DakotaDome proved the critical edge for the men’s and women’s track and field teams at USD, as they not only hosted the Great West Indoor Track and Field championships, they ruled them. The Coyote women (230.5 points) matched high expectations when they came out over Utah Valley, which notched 195 points. The men also won on their side of the event, beating the favored Utah Valley team 187-168. Full story

Grading guidelines concern students

The fairness of the Beacom School of Business grading guidelines has come under fire from the Student Government Association. The business school’s grading guidelines dictate that the average for a class falls within a given GPA. At Tuesday’s meeting, the SGA presented a resolution “condemning the grading policy,” and more than 60 students showed up to express their disapproval. Full story

Bringing issues to the spotlight

USD puts on ‘A Chorus line’

The namesake of USD’s theatre, Wayne S. Knutson, was nearly moved to tears as he watched students perform in the production of Broadway’s “A Chorus Line.” After decades of teaching and directing at USD, as well as fulfilling administrative positions, Knutson retired in 1987, but the students he saw perform on Sunday are the same students he has always known at USD.
