Three SGA senators resigned their positions Wednesday, a day after the SGA Election Steering Committee voted against allowing sophomore Marque Snow to run for SGA President.

Jordan Feist, Isaiah Howard and Matt Laidlaw all announced their resignations in e-mails sent to fellow senators and The Volante.

Howard was running for re-election this week, but Feist and Laidlaw were not seeking another term.

"This decision that the ESC (Election Steering Committee) made reminds me of Cuba, China, North Korea and Iran all mixed into one," Feist wrote. "Why don't you just tell us who the senators will be next year too?"

Snow found out Monday that he would not be able to run for SGA president because his running mate, senior Cody Banta, was unqualified to run.

ESC Chairman Chris Barondeau and SGA Advisor Genevieve Evans Taylor told Snow that he could not run without a running mate or choose a replacement this close to the election.
