The Volante

When it comes to college, it’s vital to stay entertained. To make sure you don’t go insane with boredom, here are a few technological items that are necessary to bring to school.

iPods and MP3 players
One item I, and a number of students, use are iPods and MP3 players. Walking to class can get a little boring, but music can make it an enjoyable experience.

Listening to your favorite bands is a great way to enjoy the trek to class and it can also be a great motivator to walk in general.

From drowning out the prattle of your roommate to helping you focus on your homework in the library, iPods and MP3 players are a useful tool for doing just about anything.

It’s not only important to be adequately entertained going to and from class, but also when you return to your room.

Jump drive
Jump drive is one of those things that are pretty much a necessity for school.

This is a useful tool to have mainly because it can be the deciding factor between an ‘A’ and an ‘F’ on a paper if it’s late, or if you have to make a late night trip to the printer.
It’s far better to have a jump drive and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Gaming systems
A third tech item that might increase your popularity among your floor mates  is a gaming system, and you’ll find that Xbox 360 is the rage around campus.

I’m not saying the Xbox 360 is required; the Wii is also an excellent choice.

Just know that nothing kills time while simultaneously stimulating happiness better than a round of Halo 3 on Xbox Live.

The Xbox 360 and the Playstation 2 and 3 double as DVD players so they cut down on clutter in a cramped room. You can also listen to CDs on them so they can work as a stereo, too. The gaming system is an essential in any dorm room because of its versatile uses.

There are many more tech items I have not mentioned, so feel free to get creative, but bring only the best stuff to school. Otherwise, you’ll end up a boring dorm hermit hiding in the shadow of the Stone Age.
