USD President James Abbott has approved the University Budget Committee’s budget proposal for fiscal year 2011.
In dealing with $1,160,292 cut from USD and the Sanford School of Medicine state-funded budget, the university will eliminate 17 vacant positions, eight of which will be faculty positions, cut three existing employees, adjust nine employee contracts from 10 months to nine months, and 10 graduate student positions will no longer be available.
In an e-mail Thursday Abbott said he will hold two “all-university forums” in Farber Hall on Friday, April 30. The first forum will be at 10 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m.
