PIERRE — The governor has appointed Randy Schaefer of Madison to the South Dakota Board of Regents.
Schaefer is a 1984 graduate of Dakota State University in Madison and an insurance agent.
He begins his term on the board immediately and replaces Richard Belatti, who resigned after a six-year term.
The Board of Regents oversees the state's university system, the South Dakota School for the Deaf in Sioux Falls, and the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Aberdeen.
