USD’s Student Government Association allocated $290 to the Student Athlete Advisory Council Tuesday night.
The SAAC plans and coordinates events for student athletes at USD.
“It’s a good student organization with strong leadership,” SGA President Tim Carr said. “Although it is an advisory committee for athletes, it is still able to be very diverse.”
The budget request submitted by the SAAC included an increase of $100 for printing costs, also approved by the SGA.
Also discussed was the business school grading policy. Carr plans to attend Wednesday’s faculty senate meeting to discuss the policy.
“I’m still interested in it because students are still interested in it,” Carr said of the policy. “When students start coming to me and tell me it’s a dead issue, I’ll shut up about it.”
Former SGA president Blake Alberts had called for a review of the policy, which he has said holds professors to unjust grading standards.
