I think Chelsea was a great mom on the show, especially compared to the young mothers on other episodes of 16 & Pregnant. She seemed to really want to be with her baby all the time.

Most moms on the show usually want to do "teenage" things and go party. (which, of course, isn't surprising... these girls are young) Chelsea had the chance to go to a homecoming with the blessing of her father. I think she deserved the break because she had been with her baby every night. She even chose not to go to the dance. I think that's pretty responsible. Also, she felt bad about leaving her baby. A lot of young mothers do every thing they can to get their parents to care for their babies so they can go out with friends. (I'm not saying all do, but a lot do.)

I was very proud of the way Chelsea, as a young mother, handled her situation. P.S. You deserve better than Adam... his immaturity is appalling. Also, Chelsea if you are reading any of the ignorant comments here just ignore them... though I'm sure you are used to doing just that. :) Keep your head up, you'll do fine!

poor people on here with nothing else to do but bag on a teen mom... really people.. dont be such idiots.. im in sioux falls.. my high school... had tons of teen moms.. vermillion has teen moms..damn south dakota teens.. oh wait..its not just south dakota.. its everywhere... do any of you realize that? or all you all stuck in how verm is a town of loose morals? underage drinking? in a college town? WHAT???! yeah.. again..that happens everywhere..the show just brought it to peoples attention...oh wait..no... its been brought up many times before..same with the teen mom thing.. why not show other girls what its like to go through parenthood? its a good learning experience.. during this episode all i saw was an immature dad who should not ever have that title.. i also saw a girl who basically became a woman in 9 months. shes young..yes.. but she looked like she did a damn good job with that kid. her child is going to be happy.. chelsea looks like shes going to be happy..
i dont understand how you people can judge.. my grandma was 16 when she gave birth to my mom... she gave her up for adoption because she knew she couldnt provide.. my mom was adopted by a couple with 1 kid already.. that couple abused my mom.. physically, emotionally and sexually.. their child ended up abusing me.. my mom is a wonderful woman who was brought her by a teen mom.. my grandmother is a wonderful woman.. who yes..was a teenage mom.. how does being a teen mom make you a bad person? and a worse parent than someone whos 20..25? you people really need to think about what you say before you speak.. talking about how verm is full of idiots.. then really..maybe you all should move there.. actually..im sure most of you are already there...

"She's been judging people for years. Now it's her turn. She brought this on herself. Not for getting pregnant,. but by being on that show. What did she expect to happen? " Two wrongs DON'T make a right. People grow up, and people learn from their mistakes, and I'm sure Chelsea has grown up and learned a lot from having Aubree. Stop being so hateful. If Chelsea has "judged" you in the past, be the bigger person and get over it.

To the hosts (college kids) of the beer party featured on the show: Hope you were watching and realize that you are catering to a bunch of high schoolers. You are in college, don't let high schoolers come to your apartment and drink with you......that's called bad role modeling. And parents, don't let your teenager hang out at college beer parties because that isexactly what they were doing, it's in my neighborhood and I don't like it.

I personally think that Chelsea will be fine. She has a level head and for all you people saying that she's a bad mom or going to be, how would you know anything about the way she does things if you dont know her personally. She loves Adam and i'm sure he knows he's done terrible things to her. But no matter if Adam was in the picture or not Chelsea is and will continue providing for the baby. And to the anoymous who said that she should get an education beyond her high school years? Are you trying to say that all teenage mothers just because they have a baby they can't get a higher education? HA! pethetic...

Teen pregnancy is nothing new, every generation has had pregnant teenagers. Fortunately, we no longer have families sending their daughters way to an unwed mothers home for the duration of the pregnancy, then having the baby taken away, whether the birth mother wants to give the baby up for adoption or not, all to avoid embarrassing the family.

The teenage years are cruel, whether pregnant or not. Girls are worse to their own gender. This too, is typical & an unfortunate part of the growing up process. I am not saying its right, I’m saying it is reality because of the immaturity, & the insecure feelings teens have about themselves. As parents, we need to lead by example and teach our children to treat others with respect, deserving or not. Supporting a young person is by encouraging them to do their best, no matter what the circumstances. We as parents have all made mistakes in our lives big and small. The purpose of making mistakes is to learn by them & make better choices in the future. Children are not robots. We can teach them right from wrong, what they shouldn’t do & why (party, drink, drugs, sex, reckless behavior, etc..) but in the end they will do what they are going to do, as we lay awake at night waiting for them to come home safe.

I was negative about the show prior to seeing it. What I took from the show is that Chelsea really thought that having the baby would change her relationship with her boyfriend for the better. The REALITY is IT DIDN’T. Women in general need to realize, that having a baby will not solve relationship problems. Another very important issue raised was a girl does NOT need to stay in an abusive relationship (physical or verbal) and a baby will not change abusive behavior………I see no glamour in either situation. As far as the money, the boyfriend made money too. Do you think any of his money paid for any of the baby’s needs? My bet is, it went into his CAR.

Judging is human nature, cruelty is part of the teenage experience, making mistakes knows no age, gender or race. Living through it and becoming a better person for it,....... Priceless.

I've never understood the notion of a grown adult feeling the need to trash talk a young person, no matter how nasty or rude they might be. It just looks bad on the adult, who should have more judgment and maturity. Act your age people.

Chelsea is so lucky to have such a great dad - so supportive and loving. I wish her only the best.

I am so proud of Chelsea for NOT taking the easy way out and getting an abortion. I think she is so lucky that she has such an amazing and supportive family. Her father is just wonderful. I think it was very smart of him to educate her on different methods of birth control as opposed to just telling her to stay away from sex- like that's gonna happen. I commend Chelsea on growing up and taking responsibility for her daughter. I think she is already a wonderful mother and will only get better.

I think Chelsea is extremely brave to not only go through something so difficult in her life with so much grace and maturity but to do it on television. It takes a lot of courage to show your life to the entire world especially when it is a difficult and vulnerable situation you are experiencing. The program 16 and pregnant is a great show to educate children on the difficulties that young children go through when they decide to have sex. I think it's important that teenagers understand these difficulties in a manner that they can understand.

As for Adam, he is a poor excuse for a human let alone a father. He should be condemned for all of the immature and hurtful things he said to his girlfriend who is also the mother of his child. It appalls me that a father could have so little concern about his own child. But then again I think this is also an important aspect of the show- even if he's nice and sweet and whatever have a baby and he might not be ready and you're probably going to be doing this alone.

I cant believe all the negative comments on here! You people are sick because someone gets pregnant when they are a teenager they are a bad person? She is obviously doing the right thing and taking care of Aubree. It is really funny that you cant even write your name you cowards. I dont even know Chelsea I'm not even from Vermillion but I am from South Dakota and I am appauled that other South Dakotans are so judgemental! As for you tax payers you obviously dont know anything about how federal tax dollars work and what the income bases are to get on assistance since Chelsea is living with her parents she doesn't qualify. You can look it up on the State of South Dakotas (sd.gov) website if you would like. And you people want to call her stupid? Maybe you should know your facts before you judge? Also, from what I seen on the show Chelsea has an excellent family and friends, boyfriend not so much I wont judge but that is a pretty awful thing to say about an innocent infant. Chelsea thank you for being an excellent mom you are beautiful and a smart young woman and you will go far like your dad said on the show keep your head held high!

I don't understand where everyone is bashing Adam for that text message when I'm pretty sure that everyone has said something horrible, and I'm sure she has said worse to other girls. Not to mention that she had sex with his best friend.

So where are all of Chelsea's friends denouncing the anti-Adam facebook page? Oh that's right. It's only bad when they are bad mouthing Chelsea.

I don't have a problem with her having a kid. The problem is that she exploited the situation and agreed to do the show.

Are all of the parents of VHS students so judgmental? "She should've had an abortion" is so disturbing. Regardless of your personal views on abortion, it was Chelsea's choice. It's none of your busines if she decided to reproduce. Also, the comments about "mileage' are so stupid. Women (including Chelsea) are human beings, not cars. Men may 'expect" sex? Some women expect sex from men they're dating, too.I'm not condoning premarital sex as a Christian. I'm just asking for some intelligence.

SIOUX CITY IOWA poster-

Wow, you are incredibly judgmental. I personally am 24 years old, only had sex with one person (my husband!) and have been on birth control since i was 13 due to having Dysmenorrhea. Hate to tell you, but generally people's personal beliefs have a lot more to do with if they'll have sex early than access to birth control. Birth control has SEVERAL positive uses besides protecting from pregnancy, and it doesn't make anyone turn into some uncontrollable sex fiend. I am personally insulted that someone would assume that if you have access to birth control, you're going to "BE OFF THE CHARTS WITH MILAGE BY THE TIME SHE IS IN HER TWENTIES!!". Grow up. People are going to be having sex regardless of if they have birth control, they might as well be safe about it.

Also, you say she needs support- clearly her father is supporting her and being a great parent, but these awful comments you post are anything but. I hope that if you were ever in this situation you'd be more supportive of your own child, rather than preaching your beliefs as if they are facts.

Being 16 and pregnant should not be entertainment fodder, it is a serious situation and this girl needs counselling, support and maybe a locked door! I was SHOCKED when in the beginning of the show her father asked her why she did not take her birth control? HELLO-BUT A 16 YEAR OLD SHOULD NOT BE TAKING BIRTH CONTROL!! Teenage Parenting 101 Daddy!! You need to read it, google it or go to your library and ask the help desk (they might know a little about raising a teenager). If you allow teenagers to have the liberty to take birth control, then you are allowing her to have sex with every man in her life from there on!! If she started having sex at 16....WOW, SHE IS GOING TO BE OFF THE CHARTS WITH MILAGE BY THE TIME SHE IS IN HER TWENTIES!!. Every guy she will meet will consider sex as part of the equation because she has already experienced it. Boys walk all over her now and they will continue to walk all over her. TAKE HER TO GET SOME HELP- RUN PLEASE DON'T WALK!!

Loved watching this show! I live in a town close-by and am in Vermillion constantly. What a fantastic family Chelsea has! I am so proud of her! Parenting is tough even when your older & married! I have two little ones and it is a struggle everyday even though I have a husband who does half of the work. I wouldn't change it for the world & I'm sure Chelsea wouldn't either! I want to know how Chelsea is doing now. :)
